A SmartSite is a high-conversion, lead-generation website designed for local service businesses. Its purpose is to help potential customers quickly understand who you are, what you do and where you do it, and then take the next step to contact your business.

A SmartSite is a defined product designed around clarity, conversion and local visibility. It is not bespoke or unlimited web development, and we deliberately avoid unnecessary functionality that could distract from the conversion journey.

Your R4,950 once-off SmartSite build includes the design and build of your SmartSite, connection of your existing domain or registration of a suitable new domain where required, the initial hosting period, and the technical setup required to launch your website.

Your SmartSite also includes the local-visibility foundations required for the product to work as intended, including connection and optimisation of an existing Google Business Profile or setup of a new one for the additional once-off fee described below.

The SmartSite includes two consolidated revision rounds after the completed website is presented.

Yes. A Google Business Profile is required for every SmartSite because it is an essential part of the local visibility and lead-generation system the SmartSite is designed to provide.

If you already have a Google Business Profile, we'll link it and optimise it as part of your build at no extra cost.

If you don't yet have one, we'll set one up for you for a once-off R950, in addition to your R4,950 SmartSite build fee — both due at the same time, once you approve your preview.

Ongoing Google Business Profile management is not included in the R295/month technical management service, but can be discussed separately.

We guide you through what we need and write your website copy for you. We ask you to provide accurate business information and, where available, original photographs, video and other assets that help us represent your business accurately.

If you don't have suitable photographs, we can source appropriate stock imagery.

We first create a substantial SmartSite Preview so you can review the proposed design and direction.

Once you approve the Preview, the R4,950 once-off payment is made and we proceed with full production. The payment is required at that stage because we then commit the production time, technical resources and third-party services required to complete and launch your website.

Once you approve your SmartSite Preview and payment is received, your completed SmartSite is presented within 7–14 business days, provided we've received the information and assets required to complete the build.

Every SmartSite includes two consolidated revision rounds after the completed website is presented.

For each round, please submit your requested changes as one consolidated list. This allows us to work through the changes efficiently and return the updated website for your review before moving to the next stage.

The revision rounds are intended to refine the agreed SmartSite. They are not intended to change the approved framework into a substantially different website or introduce new functionality outside the SmartSite's defined structure.

Your SmartSite is hosted on MapPoint's managed hosting platform.

Hosting is part of the SmartSite product. The R295/month service covers managed hosting and technical management, including keeping your website online, secure, technically sound and functioning properly.

Every website requires hosting. The R295/month covers managed hosting and technical management to keep your SmartSite secure, online, functioning properly and operating as intended.

It also provides ongoing technical support and management of the website environment.

Website content updates, design changes and new functionality are not included in the R295/month service and are charged separately where applicable.

Yes. Your existing domain remains yours. We'll connect it to your SmartSite and handle the technical configuration required to keep everything working correctly.

If MapPoint registers a new domain for you, we manage it on your behalf for the duration of your SmartSite service. If you leave MapPoint, the domain can be released or transferred to you at no charge.

Yes. Your SmartSite service includes five professional email addresses on your business domain.

MapPoint configures and technically manages the email as part of the managed hosting and technical management service.

If you need a logo for your business, professional logo design is available for R595.

This includes one initial concept and one round of refinement. Once approved, the logo can be implemented into your SmartSite before launch.

Google Business Profile setup is R950 once-off, only applicable if you don't already have a profile (this is in addition to your R4,950 build fee — see Q3).

Additional website work, such as adding a new section or making a larger design refinement, starts from R595, depending on the work required. More substantial requirements will first be assessed to determine whether they can be accommodated within the SmartSite's existing structure. Any applicable cost will be confirmed before work begins.

Yes. Your business will continue to grow, and your website can grow with it.

Standard content updates are charged at R295 per grouped update. We recommend combining your changes into one request so that multiple small changes can be handled together and your cost stays down.

Larger changes, new sections, significant design refinements or new functionality start from R595, depending on the work required. We'll assess the request and confirm any applicable cost before work begins.

A SmartSite is intentionally a focused lead-generation product. Its purpose is to make it easy for potential customers to understand your business and contact you.

We therefore advise against adding unnecessary functionality that could distract from the conversion hierarchy. Requests that go beyond the SmartSite's existing structure — such as substantially different designs, new sections of significant scope or new functionality — are assessed separately and quoted before work begins.

No. E-commerce websites are not part of the SmartSite product or our target market.

SmartSites are designed for local service businesses that need a focused, high-conversion website to generate enquiries and leads.

You're never locked in.

If you leave MapPoint, we'll hand over your website and release or transfer your domain to you at no charge. Your new provider then takes over hosting and technical management.

If your professional email service is also transferred away from MapPoint, your new provider will need to take responsibility for the email service and its technical management.

We'll contact you and give you an opportunity to resolve the outstanding amount before taking action affecting your service.
